Austin Film Festival, Writers for Writers, UCLA Extension Screenwriting Awards, and a New Movie

The last few weeks have seen my attention pulled in many different directions, so I am glad that many of the seeds I was able to plant earlier this year are starting to come to fruition.

Firstly, some great news on the writing front!

The Baltimore School of Charm not only placed in the top 15% of the Nicholl Fellowship but is now a finalist for the UCLA screenwriting competition. I have worked so hard on this script but not as long or as hard as the other two that are finally starting to see some traction.

I was told that my stage play BORDERLINE is now a semifinalist at the Austin Film Festival Inaugural Playwriting Competition. That’s incredible! AFF is such a respected festival and I cannot believe I am among such amazing company.

And finally, DARUMA, was shortlisted as a finalist for the Writers for Writers fellowship.

I have been working on the last two for longer than I want to admit. But it takes time for things to happen, and they must happen at your own pace.

Luck is what happens when chance meets opportunity and I thrilled to have so many good things going on at the same time.

Next, I was told that the scenes I did in a little movie earlier this year made it to the final edit!!!! More to come on that in the coming months.

Now, Bogie and I are off to Washington once more and New York before the chill of the fall settles in and Pumpkin Spice everything is truly unavoidable.
