WeScreenPlay Finalist, Notes on Writing and #Bye2017

The end of the year is drawing to a close and I’m looking forward to spending my holidays on the East Coast again this year. It’s such a change from Los Angeles winters, going to places, you know, where there’s like actual snow.

The reading for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles went well and some wonderful people came to the event. I look forward to doing more events with them.

I am working on my next books and am hopeful for a productive 2018.

Some notes and pieces of news to close 2017…

My thoughts on how best to promote your work were shared with other writers here.

My screenplay DARUMA has been named a finalist in the WeScreenPlay Diverse Voices competition.

I’m really glad that people have been able to resonate as much as they have with this material. It’s been a personal project of mine for the better part of a 12 years now, ever since my brother became a paraplegic. It’s hard to process that that life-changing event happened almost 13 years ago, but it did. And like the Daruma Doll… we keep rolling on.

And that is how we will tackle 2018. We will keep rolling. Fall down seven times, get up eight.

It’s been a good year, but I am excited for 2018, mostly for the change the new year brings and also to share a big announcement with you in January.

Stay tuned.

Till then, happy new year and happy holidays.
